A few of the guys from our SoHo store came up for 3 days of mountaineering. I got the opportunity to climb Mount Washington with them during some fantastic weather. Enjoy the pics!

3-4-2010 Ice Climbing Lesson
After a winter full of skiing and avalanche courses I finally got back out on some ice when __ and __ came up for a day of multi-pitch ice climbing.

2-26-10 thru 2-28-10 Level 1 Avalanche Course
I must admit that while flying back from Colorado I was pessimistic about the snow we would have for this upcoming avalanche course. Almost two weeks with nothing but warm temps and zero precip had given us a very un-interesting snowpack. Luckily, the week before the course started a storm came and dumped four feet of snow in four days on Mt. Washington and in the Notches, giving us some very cool conditions to take an Avy Course.

Another great course and another good group of aspiring backcountry snow savy travelers! Thanks to each of your for being a part of this course!
2-16-10 thru 2-19-10 Level 2 AIARE ITC Course
Silverton, Colorado! What an amazing 4 days I got to spend in the San Juan Mountains for Colorado! Here’s my 4 minute recap of the trip. Select High-Def using the slider at the top right of the picture for best viewing and enjoy!
2-6-10 Mount Washington Climb
Andrea, Pawel, and Maciej had climbed Mount Washington with me in the winter two years ago. Pawel made a short video with a point and shoot camera and posted it to youtube. Seeing that homemade video inspired me to start messing around with small point & shoot cameras and basic movie editing like iMovie, and I truly thank him for that inspiration.
This year their friend Pia joined, and we had an amazing day on the rockpile, weather-wise and companion wise. Thanks for a great day out guys, I look forward to our next adventure.
1-16-10 to 1-18-10 Level 1 Avalanche Course
We had a full house for our third Level 1 AIARE Course of the season. 12 aspiring back-country skiiers and riders came to North Conway to attend this course and we had some pretty interesting observations to make!

A short video of Wu conducting a “Compression Test” on a column of isolated snow…
Thank you guys for taking this course with EMSCS and for all your constructive questions and class participation. Hope to see you shredding in the back-county in the near future!
